View our monthly goods trade update to July 2021 shows goods exports to the U.S. increased $407.7M (6.7%) for the 12 months ending July 2021. Our monthly goods trade dashboard – July 2021 – shows that our goods exports to the U.S. increased $407.7M (6.7%) for the 12 months July 2021. However, this period includes the movement of Air NZ planes to US storage facilities which are counted as an export (over $400M). Imports from the U.S. decreased $495.9M (-8.1%) over the same period.

The latest goods trade data shows that our exports to the U.S. continue to rise – up 12.9% – compared with December 2019 – while exports to some of New Zealand’s other key markets have flattened or declined.

Looking at exports again on an annual basis – 12 months to December 2020 versus 12 months to December 2019 – there is an increase of 17.7%.
