Our policy programmes take a 3-5 year outlook and are focused on improving our understanding of some of the most challenging global problems facing New Zealand and the US. We want to ensure that public policy and private sector efforts match the scale and complexity of these challenges.
Our programmes play an important role by highlighting bold ideas and new perspectives, connecting and creating new constituencies, and providing platforms to support creative policy thinking.

Programme Elements
Generally, all our policy programmes have three elements: Platforms and Networks, Events, & Research and Policy Output
We create platforms and networks of thinkers from New Zealand and the United States bringing together a diverse range of people and ideas to generate debate in policy areas of vital importance to New Zealand and the US.
We offer digital, media and engagement platforms to advance these ideas.
We both host and support events that promote the objectives of our policy programmes. This could involve any and all of the following:
Policy/Business Roundtables aimed at bringing together some of the best thinkers from the policy and business communities to discuss common approaches to emerging or under-addressed policy issues. This thinking will then form the basis of further work to drive our policy programmes.
Partnership Forums to bring together diverse expert communities, political and policy leaders, while highlighting and advancing bold new policy ideas.
Public events addressing both emerging issues and highlighting the work of our members and those involved in our policy programmes. This could include speaker programmes, workshops and symposia.
We develop and commission research and policy work in emerging or under-addressed areas or where there is a need to re-energise debate. This could involve:
Commissioning a series of reports and papers featuring original research, designed to push forward the next generation of ideas and thinkers.
Seeking to engage both the wider public and policy makers directly through current and topical issues.
